Potty Training Continues

I think I have mentioned in a previous post that Carter is really interested in the potty. I have resisted trying to encourage it too much because of the extra effort it entails for me and I don't want to be potty training for two years. He has really been doing great though. He has been keeping his diaper dry all day and telling us every time he needs to go. He stayed dry at church and while we were shopping for a couple of hours. Last night was his first night out of the crib. He woke up and went potty in the night and his diaper was still dry in the morning. Go Carter! He is really growing up. It makes me a little sad to see my baby turning into such a Big Boy.

He is getting so independent. He does not like being helped with anything which can often be frustrating for all of us. He does not talk very much even though I think he can, he just chooses not to. It is hard to know what he wants or why he upset. Today he threw a huge fit because Andrew didn't let him climb out of the car and shut the door by himself. When I try to help get him dressed he will take off anything I have touched and put it back on himself.

Did I mention that he has some OCD issues. He is compulsive about everything being in order. Lids cannot be off jars. He gets upset when I have to pour the milk because the lid is off the bottle. When Corbin was opening gifts he would start crying every time that wrapping paper was left on the floor. As soon as I put it in the trash he would be fine again. If toys are left out or things in the bathroom are not put away he takes personal responsibility to put everything in it's proper place. He always seems to be cleaning. Even when he goes to friend's houses.

He is just a funny kid, Cute but Funny.
